Further commentary upon the impact of employment tribunal fees having been declared unlawful... and the possible impact on trade union activity / membership.

You may not spend much time listening to parliamentary debate (and who can blame you), but those of you who do, you will have heard Dominic Raab (Minister of State for Courts & Justice) answer questions on employment tribunal fees earlier this week.

A number of commentators have stated that they found his tone to be 'apologetic' towards those prevented from bringing a claim (due to the imposition of employment tribunal fees) and I have to say that I agree.

Importantly, there was also no mention of any government plans to introduce a replacement fee regime and, even if there were, you might query where political support for such a move might now come from.
