Brent Council has successfully prosecuted an accountancy firm under the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 for allowing its waste to be fly tipped.

There have been numerous cases recently of businesses failing to manage the waste the business produces effectively by either failing to transfer it to a legitimate waste organisation or in some cases disposing of waste without following the strict requirements for waste disposal.

This case can be seen as a warning to other businesses that Councils and the Environment Agency are using the powers of prosecution to get this message across.
