UEFA'S Marketing chief has confirmed that they are working on their own OTT platform to take advantage of the new digital platforms that allow fans greater access to a wider range of leagues and formats.

The aim is not to take customers away from traditional broadcasters but to appeal to fans who may not be able to watch games on pay-TV or who follow leagues that are not usually made available by mainstream channels.

UEFA sees this as an opportunity to shine a "spotlight" on the Women's game and create a strong fan base for these teams. It follows the recent pattern of increasing professionalism and commercialisation in the women's game.
