Last night Boris Johnson announced significant measures and guidance about staying at home and away from from others.
This has led many separated parents who have child arrangements plans or orders in place concerned as to impact of this "lockdown".
It has now been confirmed that where parents do not live in the same household, children under 18 can be moved between their parents’ homes.
However, there will be exceptions to this where it will not be appropriate to do so in the best interests of the child. Most commonly this may be for medical reasons such as one parent being in self isolation.
Parents are encouraged to communicate with each other and act responsibly to determine what is the best interests of each child given the very serious advice the government has given. If you are in any doubt as to what steps to take then you may wish to take legal advice.
